art

The Art degree program is designed to give students a solid background in art, design, and visual studies, as well as access to interdisciplinary experiences that cultivate creativity, community, leadership, and a commitment to sustainability and social justice.

Aligned with the University’s Institutional Learning Outcomes, we are committed to students acquisition of artistic and civic skills, and cultivating lifelong learning.

In our broad range of art and multimedia course offerings, we emphasize the artist’s ability to inspire and empower both individuals and communities. The curriculum encourages students to engage critically with their work, refine their artistic skills and craft, and engage in collaborative and community-based learning. Students are also strongly encouraged to discover diverse cultural experiences through international studies abroad.

The Art program is the beginning of a lifelong journey for visual scholars and artists wanting to be influential participants in their fields, as well as society.
