Christanne Gallagher ’83, who recently retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as manager of the Bay Model Visitor Center in Sausalito after 40 years of service,  received the Distinguished Alumni Award when Alumni Relations at ϾƷ hosted Reunion Weekend on April 21-22.

Gallagher was honored at the Anniversary Luncheon and Awards Celebration on April 22 on Meadowlands Lawn along with Ben Stricker ’95, recipient of the Sister M. Patricia Lyons, O.P. Distinguished Alumni Service Award, plus business professor Dr. Chris Leeds and political science professor Dr. Christian Dean, both of whom are retiring this academic year. In addition, Erika Rosales-Shelfo ’17 and Maria Alvarez Pineda ’20, Latinos Unidos Club alumnae who last year established a scholarship for first-generation students, were given the Outstanding Recent Graduate Award.

A crowd of more than 200 alumni attended and participated in numerous Reunion Weekend activities beginning with the Golden Circle Dinner on April 21 which reunited and honored the Class of 1973, the first class at Dominican to integrate men into the previous all-women college. The Golden Circle Dinner started with a cocktail hour at Edgehill Mansion followed by dinner.

All Dominican alumni were welcomed to attend, including those celebrating milestone reunions (classes ending in “3” or “8”) or recent members joining the Alumni Association.

Reunion Weekend 2023 concluded on April 22, starting with Mass with Tanzania priest, Father Ephrem Tilya, of Saint Isabella Parish and Deacon Christopher Major, Saint Isabella Parish of San Rafael in the St. Catherine Benincasa Chapel in Edgehill Mansion. Following the Anniversary Luncheon and Awards Celebration, Dominican alumni had class photos taken on the Meadowlands Hall stairs and participated in a student-led campus tour.

The Class of 2020 led a tree dedication ceremony on the Edgehill Mansion lawn as a tribute to acknowledge its grace and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Reunion After Party followed on the Caleruega Dining Hall Plaza.
