A record number of gifts from the �Ͼ�Ʒ�� community helped raise $106,761 from 590 donors during the third annual day of giving, All In for Dominican, on March 19.

All In for Dominican is the University’s annual online giving day that brings the entire Dominican community — alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends — together to support scholarships, schools, and programs.

The 24-hour event exceeded its goal of 550 gifts in support of the School of Health and Natural Sciences, the School of Liberal Arts & Education, the Barowsky School of Business, Campus Ministry, the Close the Gap Scholarship, Athletics, Global Education Travel Stipends, LeaderShape, OLLI, the Senior Class Fund, Student Life, and The Dominican Fund.

“All In for Dominican is more than just a fundraising campaign. It is a community event focused on investing in the transformative education we provide our students,” says Jessica Jordan, Assistant Vice President for Alumni Engagement, Annual Fund & Advancement Services.

“From scholarships to program support, this day raises funds that directly support our students,” she adds. “Thank you for being engaged members of this wonderful community. Your contributions make a tremendous impact to support Dominican and our amazing, dynamic students.”

Donations came from almost every county in California, as well as 18 states including New York, Maryland, Ohio, Massachusetts, Florida, Texas, Colorado, and Alaska.

Many gifts were matched by donors who created special challenges to incentivize others to give. A participation challenge set by the Alumni Board of Directors matched dollar for dollar 63 gifts for a total of $7,000. Trustee Susan Gilardi '68 gave $5,000 when 175 gifts were made before 10 a.m. Trustee Carolyn Klebanoff and Fred Cohen gave $5,000 when 250 gifts were made by noon. Trustee Emerita Katy McGovern and Francis McGovern gave $10,000 when the number of gifts exceeded 550. Other donors issuing successful matching challenges included Dr. Denise Lucy, Dr. Francoise Lepage, Dr. Paul Raccanello ’96, MA ’01, Trustee Mel Atkins ’06, MBA ’10, John Boneparth, and Sophia De Quattro ’16. In all, these challenges unlocked $38,500 in matching gifts.

In addition, a network of community advocates helped generate gifts, with many alumni using their own social media networks to encourage giving.

A variety of on-campus activities were held throughout the day to energize and engage the campus community. These included doughnuts and coffee at the donation stations throughout the morning; All In Palooza in Caleruega Plaza at lunchtime; yoga and Tai Chi in the afternoon; and Chilly Hour in Creekside to celebrate the day.

Among the units that raised the most money were the Osher Life Long Learning Program with $17,163 from 46 donors; the Close the Gap Scholarship with $12,385 from 112 donors; Athletics with $8,158 from 73 donors; and The Dominican Fund with $7,438 from 81 donors.
